Raptors are difficult and the typical birding course is a series of species images and id characters – that can drain the joy out of birding!
Our course emphasizes process against detail; principles versus individual species.
We continue with the successful 2 step identification protocols used in our previous courses. Combined with comparative work, games and self identification exercises – repetitive to embed memory – what once seemed a daunting task, turns into an enjoyable session of learning.
The course (for all 3 sessions) costs R550 for a single person, join with 2 or more and the price is R700.
For pensioners the cost is R400.
The course is structured over 3 x 90 Minute Sessions and will highlight the topics below:
Session 1. Principles of raptor id – falcons & kestrels
Session 2. Vultures and eagles
Session 3. Buzzards, Goshawks, Harriers and all
The course includes detailed presentations and course material that is prepared and sent to you afterward that will aid you in your birding.
Our ‘classrooms’ will be small to enable you to get some one-on-one time and we will open up opportunities for follow-up support from Aldo and myself.
We will run this course over the following days:
Session 1: Monday, 7 September at 11:00
Session 2: Wednesday, 9 September at 11:00
Session 3: Friday, 11 September at 11:00
Session 1: Monday, 21 September at 19:00
Session 2: Wednesday, 23 September at 19:00
Session 3: Friday, 25 September at 19:00
We would love for you to be joined by your friends and family, so please feel free to share this free session with those you’d like to go birding with.
Please use the calendar on the right to book into Session 1!
We look forward to hosting you,
Aldo and Emile
