Fantastic cultural experience FANTASTIC TRIP! We loved it. The four days really allowed us to see the best of Lesotho. Long car rides were not too bad. We loved the village visit with guide (Joshua) most and the blanket presentation when we couldnt see the Dino prints. Would recommend to keep the blanket presentation. We would have liked to participate in a cooking class (bread or lentiles) and maybe seen a cultural dance presentation. However, we knows these are difficult to coordinate for solo/duo travelers. Probably need a bigger group for the dance. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Awesome day on Sani Pass We did the private day trip of Sani Pass. I arranged everything via WhatsApp within 5 min. The guys are super responsive. The next day, they picked us up at our hotel on-time. Comfortable car, very friendly and knowledgeable guide. He drove extremely smoothly which is very hard on the gravel road of Sani Pass! We could stop wherever we wanted to take photos etc. Fair, competitive price. Couldn't have asked for more.

10/10 tour A tremendous tour with the amazing Pat, our guide, and Innocent, our transfer driver from Durban. The Sani Pass and Lesotho are stunning!!! The personal attention from Pat and Innocent made this even more magnificent, we learned so much. A day we will remember for a very long time.

Only a short time around Durban? Here’s a great tour! We had a fantastic and memorable time. Sani Pass was breathtaking and Lesotho amazing. Our time in the village with Joseph was really interesting and no show put on for us which is what we prefer. Accommodation very good and connections in and out of Durban well organised. Our guide Peter was knowledgeable and personable and we enjoyed our time with him. We would highly recommend this tour.

Danke Pat

Awe-inspiring vistas The season and weather conditions couldn't have been better for this spectacular drive to the roof of Africa through the Sani Pass. The scenery was incredibly beautiful -- the hillsides covered in a carpet of green, and punctuated with beautiful wildflowers and colourful birds flitting from bush to bush. The road itself was a test of our driver's skills -- rock-strewn and steep, only suitable for a rugged 4X4 -- but an exhilarating ride, particularly during the series of hair-raising switchbacks as you reach the top. At the top, we entered Lesotho and were greeted by the friendly "Blanket People" and visited a village to taste their local bread, capped off by a tasty lunch (and great local beer!) at Africa's highest pub (2,874 mètres ASL) and then the ride back! It was a long day (the ride to-from Durban is about 6-7 hours, return, and the tour from Underberg to Lesotho lasts about 5 hours), but it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we highly recommend it.

sani pass and lesotho Patrick was an exceptional tour guide and made our Sani Pass and Lesotho experience truly unforgettable. He has a deep and thorough knowledge of the region — not only its historical significance, but also the geology, natural environment, and wildlife of the Sani Pass and surrounding Drakensberg mountains. His explanations added so much depth to every stop along the way.
He was also incredibly thoughtful throughout the day, offering to take photos for us without being asked — and he turned out to be a great photographer, which we really appreciated.
To top it off, we later ran into Patrick at the Underberg Country Club and ended up having dinner together, which led to fantastic conversation and a genuinely memorable evening. He’s personable, engaging, and clearly passionate about what he does.
Five stars without hesitation. I would absolutely recommend Patrick to anyone looking for a high-quality, enriching Sani Pass and Lesotho experience.

Excelent organization My cousin and I made the reservation very late, but this was not an issue for the organizer. We received the exact pickup location where the van collected us. SKY, who was the driver, guide, and main source of information, handled everything excellently. Thank you for the great organization. Highly recommended.

African Massage It was a bumpy ride, a true 'African massage', but so so beautifull. The guide Sia is very good and explains all you see on the route and is very friendly. He speaks 4 languages and teaches you some Sesotho (language of Lesotho) words. I can only recommend to go with Roof of Afria Tours.

Great way to experience the Sani Pass! We had a great time going on the Sani Pass tour to Lesotho. Everything was well organized and the trip was both interesting and fun. Our tour guide Patrick was fantastic and shared great insight into the history of the region aswell as the geography. He also made sure we had enough opportunities to stop for a picture or a short break. Great way to see the Sani pass and get a glimpse of Lesotho!

5 day custom private tour flawlessly executed I did a private 5 day custom tour and every aspect was flawless executed
From pickups and drop offs accommodating my wish to hike down to the base of Maletsunyane Falls, visiting a local village and more they pulled it all together brilliantly. The accommodations were all nice enough though you need to remember you are in Lesotho and if you get away from the city and into nature what is available is more rustic and some times the electricity can go out
My guide was superb and full of local knowledge as he’s from Lesotho. He spoke all the needed local languages fluently and allowed me to get a genuine feel for the country
The vehicle they used was modern and in excellent condition

Best company for a Sani Pass trip to Lesotho Highly recommend this company for a day trip to Lesotho via Sani Pass. Excellent guide who picked us up from our guesthouse and looked after us all day. Fantastic knowledge of the area, birds, plants etc. stopped on the way and made us coffee in the back of his truck - nice touch. Local lunch not included but place we were taken which was quite new did a good lunch for ZAR 150. Cost of tour very good value.

Unbelievably beautiful We booked a day tour to Sani pass from Underberg. We were picked up from our hotel and communication was prompt with the tour operator by indicating the time of departure. Our guide Siya was absolutely knowledgeable of the area, the culture and procedures at the border crossings and most importantly the drive. He was a very competent driver and extremely skilled and made the experience absolutely enjoyable. He gave us ample time to take photos and to do sightseeing and always gave valuable information on the area. An absolute must visit as the views are breathtaking and the pictures do not do justice to such a beautiful landscape. The visit to the Basotho village was also very interesting and an excellent experience.
