Highly Highly recommend Roof of Africa Tours!!! - We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Roof of Africa Tours! Our journey began in Durban and ended in Umzolozolo. They are first classlet me talk about Peter as a guide, unbelievable. His ultimate goal is your safety, he then sets about to personalize the experience. Peter is well versed in the culture as he is from the Lesotho area and garners much respect from the locals. He has in-depth knowledge of the area, and shares it but he is an active listener. When he does something unexpected and you wonder how did he know, it’s because he listens and moves on your desires to make it happen! We went from Durban to the mountainous landscape of Drakensburg/Lesotho drove up Sani Pass and Black Mountain Pass. Sani Pass is not for the faint of heart, from the twist and turns to the breathtaking scenery it is beyond words. Peter drove us with expert precision up and down the mountain, we were left in awe. In Lesotho/Semonkong we had the unique opportunity to immerse ourselves into the culture and get to know some of the people and their traditions. Peter arranged for us to go into a local women’s home who showed us how to make one of their traditional breads. We hiked into the hills of Semonkong and spent time amongst the shepards and viewed the great Maletsunyane Falls. We learned a great deal about their blanket traditions by attending a blanket presentation. He also took us to a cave where there are ancient (700 year old) paintings on the walls of cave. It was unexpected but so appreciated. We journeyed onward with them to Claren’s, Witsieshoek Lodge and finally Umzolozolo Nambiti Private game reserve.

We knew nothing about this company, our friend who is S. African and owner of Kruger Nights (Werner Venter and his partner Mondray Rabie) put together our 32 day journey in S. Africa. They partnered with Roof of Africa and hit a home run with this tour company.

We love Emile, the owner and the attention to detail he provided. We came from the US and had no idea what to expect. We had a detailed itinerary and boy did they deliver. Our trip was not their typical tour but it goes without saying they are a very capable organization and certainly earned our trust and respect. They are all about meeting your expectations, and for us they exceeded. This tour company is the real deal. We wanted to really experience this part of S. Africa and because of them we left there changed and with a greater appreciation and depth of knowledge of and for our S. African brothers and sisters. Truly a trip of a lifetime.   Don’t miss out!  - The trip was amazing! went horseback riding, got to experience and see Lesotho culture and the tour guide, More, was the best!
